how do every one. just new to this kit car building and i needing a little help.
i'm building a pilgrim sumo, and have a good 351 cleveland to go in,
problem is i need a manual gearbox and bell-housing to suit. i've read that people put a getrag box on them,
but what is the getrag box from and where do i get a bell-housing.

i'd be grateful of any help, and i'm also open to other suggestions.

cheers, adam.

The getrag box is probably best sourced from the manual Jaguar XJS, though I believe it also features in some BMW cars. If you would consider an auto with full manual control (I would), Real Steel do them.

before investing a lot of money in the cleveland make sure you got the 4 bolt mains and have done the oil canals/high pressure pump mods, the cleveland have a terrible reputation for throwing a rod (been there...)

What could be a better option is to find a 302 block and modify the heads to fit (called a Boss 302), much more reliable and a slightly lighter and revs much higher.

Gearbox could be a ford T10, difficult to find but it should be possible. As far as i recall, clevelands were only used from 1970-73 (74 was a 400M which is not the same), so there isn't a lot of them around (a lot have died as well, i killed one :-))
