Hi all,

Is anybody aware of a mobile tuner/ bike mechanic in the West Yorkshire area?

I fired up my JZR for the first time today and things aren’t too rosy! She had a full service prior to storage and was in tip top condition; guess it was a tab optimistic to think all would be well!

It had a Honda CX500 motor which grumbled into life after a little bit of provocation, issues seem to be:

Firing on one cylinder
Clutch wont engage (I.E stuck in gear)
The odd loud bang/clunking noise whilst started motor spins, sounds as though its upon disengaging?

In the past id have taken it down to the local bike garage but with the clutch playing up I think it would be a step too far!

Unfortunately I don’t have enough spare time/skill to fix it at the moment so would appreciate any contact advice/ detail available!

Any mechanical advice would be much appreciated if there are novice things I may be overlooking.

Many thinks, Mitch

I'm afraid I can't help you on the engine issues but that's a lovely JZR. I'm dreaming about putting a guzzi in my lomax but I think it will be more trouble than it's worth, especially now that she's running sweet.

There must be a cx500 or JZR forum somewhere on the web. I often find places like that offer more knowledge than you will ever need to know and while mostly frequented by anoraks, are quite useful.

Good luck

As you say the engine was running perfectly before you stored it,try cleaning out the carbs,my guess is that you'll probably find a blocked jet .
