Hi

As I understand things when you present a newly built kit car for a BIVA the emmissions test is relative to the year of manufacture of the engine used. What I can't to seem to be able to clarify is what the tester will accept as proof of the engine date? Can anyone help?

A letter or data sheet from the manufacturer, The V5C of the bike the engine came from, An internet source of engine data (less likely this one). A publication like a Haynes manual.

Oh, knowing how the DVLA and VOSA work, I didn't think it would be that easy!

Thanks

Yes a letter from the manufacturer is OK. It worked for mine, Fords wrote saying my engine was built in 88 and DVLA accepted it with no Q's.
