How many PH'ers are planning to go? These are great events for anyone planning to buy their first kitcar and meet lots of manufacturers and enthusiastic owners. You take take a passenger ride in hopefully any car there you fancy around the Brands Hatch Indy circuit. Entry is free and rides may be free or a nominal charge by some, usually £5 or £10. That charge will just about cover the fuel used by some cars... So far 6 of us are booked in under the SouthernKitCars banner, come and say hi and maybe grab a ride, we will have car engined and bike engined cars independent of any manufacturers, just there to spread the word how fun kit cars can be. Historically these days have been on sunny Suturdays and been not too crowded, so this time on a Tuesday you may get a real oportunity to sample many types of car to try and help you decide what to buy / build.

What do I have to do to come along to this event?
Is there a signing on form or something. Do I have to be a member of a club?

If I can get it MOT'd in time I'll be there.

Dave, officially it is a trackday run by MSV directly from the Brands Hatch website. To take part in the open pitlane trackday it is £179. But entry on the day is free to come look and mingle. In the past people have paid £10 to sign an indemnity fir and get a wristband, which allows track use as a passenger only. Some companies charge a small fee to ride ( which really will not cover the cost of fuel / tyres / brakes even so do not be too miffed if asked to pay £5 or £10 for half a dozen laps. I would imagine that is how this will be run, but don' t quote me.

I don't know the guy driving but this was the Cossie 4WD Dax crashing on the pit straight after coming out of the pits in front of me.

Looks like to much speed and to far across.

Looks like he might have got a wheel on the grass, he looked well over to the left of the track, I was stood at the other side of the pit wall at the time and heard the crunch as it hit.

Certainly well offline. He had already had a slide in Paddock and then one on the exit to Druids. Nowhere close to the correct line through most of the corners. I hope the guy is OK and the car isn't too damage but he really needs to get some track training for next time.

Have not seen the clip as only on iPhone but I sincierly hope if someone has posted a clip of someone crashing they have at least had the courtesy of fuzzing out their numberplate.

You are a better man than me if you can read the plate on the Dax. Also I'm not sure why it would be an issue if you could (beyond the possible issue if the driver tried to defraud his insurance company). Why would you think it is an issue Lee ?

Alright Jeff, did not realise that was you! But since you asked the question, I will try to answer it :-)
I just would not like it done to me, my accident posted on an open forum where my car could be identified. I am no Columbo, but if I was in the Market for a black 4x4 Cosworth Dax Rush I might have one less to consider. Not just for insurance reasons ( who am I to judge, it is none of my business what goes on between people and their insurance companies) but also for car reasale purposes. On one of our foreign trips one of our cars was quite seriously damaged. It was a magazine featured trip, I suggested / he also asked , that we do not mention it in the write up. We respeced that and as the car was just a bolt-on repair job the car is just the same and nobody is any the wiser, needlessly or not needlessly. And apart from that this is a small kitcar community, he is quite probobly a PH'er so I just wouldn't have. Racing cars in a race are an entirely different matter, but that was a trackday in the guys own car. I saw at least 10 cars bin it on that trackday, it was slippery as hell, I had more than a couple of moments myself but kept it on track. I am not going to criticise the guys driving, he was out there in the rain enjoying himself so who am I to be judge, jury and executioner! Fair play to him, lots of cars sat in the garage during the wet bits!!!!! Other than that, I don't have any problems at all with posting peoples accidents on forums! :-)
