Remember Calibra rebody kit project?
Discussion
Hi guys. You remember my post about calibra rebody kit?

I had to redesign whole car because of regulations for registering self made vehicles in my country. That eventually lead to completely new proportions of the car while keeping same design language. Also, I had to make some calculations to prove that the modifications (front track width +40mm, rear track width +80mm, lowering of the vehicle by 40mm) will not harm original vehicle's characteristics. Then I had to make some tools for keeping symmetry of the model right etc. Lots of preparations
. But all that is behind me and I started to make actual mock up. Now I'm finishing cross sections and will start to build the mock up these days. You can follow the progress of building the car on www.newlevel.mk which will be regulary updated with new pictures of building process. I hope to get valuable feed back (as for the previous post) from You guys. I would appreciate your comments and opinions very much. Here are some images of the final design.

Looks like a cross between a Hyundai Coupe and Mustang. I would say that there is certainly a market for re-bodied cars that aren't replicas. However, using the Calibra as a base has severely restricted the longevity of your sales. Had it been based on a more plentiful donor with various engine options (BMW 3 Series for eg) I think you could keep going for a bit longer and modify to keep up to date.
I agree with Pete- the actual kit looks very nice, and a much better looking car, IMO, to the original Calibra. Like Pete says though, If you could create a re-body for an old 3 series i think you could be on to a winner. They handle great and they drive great, but sometimes they just look a bit dated, a new, up to date rebody for an older M3 could really get things moving for you.
