Furore F1 has passed IVA
Discussion
Just thought i would let you know that the first Furore F1 I've submitted for IVA since it changed from SVA has passed satisfactorily with no "issues" whatsoever, so nothing to stop you all getting building now!
This has a ZZR1400 in the back, just waiting for registration & will be on the road - should be interesting on current cold damp surfaces! I'm expecting this to be almost as quick as the original twin engined car

Out of interest, what is the initial reaction of the average SVA / IVA tester to a Furore?

Well Done Russ!!!
I was asked to make sure I didn't include the examiner himself at Leighton Buzzard, which was pretty much the same thing as not taking any pictures of the test itself, so I put the camera away.Steve_D said:
Last time I was at the test station they would not allow me to take photos.
I took loads of mine at SVA in Nottingham.Edited by Ferg on Thursday 4th November 14:58

I've had different reactions with the 3 cars I've presented for SVA/IVA - the first one (Chelmsford) was fine with it until he discovered that each of the 2 engines drove one rear wheel each!!! There definitely wasn't a section in the manual on that & as he couldn't pigeon hole it he failed it - subsequent conversations with VOSA resulted in a change of attitude & a pass.
The second car (Edmonton) the tester had a few probs getting in & out of it - however he was about 6'4" & 18 stone or so
, but he was more intrigued by the whole concept than anything else & once I'd proved engine age & therefore no CAT test it passed without probs. The 3rd car (Edmonton different tester) was taken in by a colleague as I was on hols & this had the manufacturers test as it's only £199 instead of £450! The tester was (apparantly, I wasn't there remember!) very complimentary about the way it was put together & thoroughly enthused by it "nice to see something different" was one comment.
However a customer who put a car in at Gillingham was met by , well I wouldn't say torrents of abuse, but a distinctly hostile attitude to say the least! In fairness it was not a very well put together car & I can understand that if the tester felt the presenter was taking the P155 then he could rightfully be annoyed, however that doesn't excuse the subsequent failure at retest on at least 2 non-existant items, one of which I have subsequently sought clarification from VOSA on & yes we're right the tester was wrong!
I guess it's much the same as the cars reception on here & elsewhere, some people love it, many people hate it. I know I've read the comment (think it was on a GT40 forum) "I wouldn't be seen dead getting out of that" or "you'd look a complete tw*t" - well, yeah, I mean you look dead sensible getting out of a 7 clone! & at least I'm not pretending my car is something it's not, it's not a copy or replica of anything, I do feel sorry for the owners of the (very few) genuine Cobras who must get very fed up with being asked who the kit manufacturer is!!! However I can honestly say no SVA/IVA tester has barfed at it yet!!!
One thing I don't actually understand ( tho' people are welcome to their own views) are comments like "ooh! my eyes!", I assume these people have found every F1 car bult for the last 10 years or so to be dog ugly as well - each to his own

Dont take it too personally Russ , it is only opinions and on here friendly abuse is common! Which F1 car from the last 10 years is it supposed to look like?
My SVA was done too at Gillingham, and he was a genuine nasty little s
t. He failed me on paperwork, and after I had got personal letters from Honda UK and the chairman himself of Luke harnesses, the little knob did not even look at them at the retest! Just said fine and gave me a MAC certificate. I felt like spilling my coffee all over his face.
