I was just interested if any kit cars have ventured out in the snow yet.
Which kits would be 'in their element'?
Would a Fugative or Blitz drive well in the snow?

I know.. so many questions! scratchchin

If snow gets bad tonight then I will probably use one of my Kitcars to get to work tomorrow.
However it is a Dakar 4x4.

Went out In the fury on Sunday. Very frosty and below 0 degrees. Wheelspin in every gear! With the snow now it can stay where it is in the garage!

I was supposed to be taking the Furore F1 for its DVLA inspection at Chelmsford on Tuesday (about 10 miles away)- woke to a couple of inches of snow & thought "sod it" but I was still going to drive it there & back! By the time I was due to go, we'd cleared the drive, but the road was 6" deep! Reversed down the drive & it promptly buried itself - no chance of going anywhere, took me about an hour to get back up the drive (it is steep!)& back in the garage. However I am very glad I never made it as the local roads were all grid locked & the jam from Chelmsford back to Benfleet took hours to clear I'd probably have died of hypothermia!!! I now have another test booked for next Tuesday - lets hope for no more snow!

I've always thought the Murtaya is close to the perfect two-seater. Quick as bks in the dry, looks great, drop top for the summer and 4WD for attacking the ungritted lanes in winter. Are you running winter tyres on there - how well does it cope?

My Mojo gets used all year round, and has been in service every weekday during the snowy spell. Admittedly we're not that snowed under in Warwickshire at the mo, but we were back in Jan when these vids were taken!

Let me see - 600Kg weight, RWD, no roof or doors, no heater, sub-zero temperatures and lots of snow and ice...

...I think I'll leave it in the garage, thanks all the same!

Winter tyres in this case were P1 Proxes, 'winter' is such a relative term!
Lots of cars stuck in Basingstoke last year, I was not one of them but I did have to drive around lots that were going nowhere.

This was today...

Not real hardcore snow in Cheshire, apart from up towards the peaks, but if you wrap up well and stick to main roads then it's fine...

Indeed. It is fwd, It would be very interesting if it was RWD like a JZR or similar, especially in the snow!

Have you made some changes to the front of the bodywork? Looks a lot nicer than I remember? Either that or the white really looks nice.

Good job young man wink

Thanx for that; the car is constantly evolving, I think it looks very different with the airbox covering the 2nd seat & this is a higher nose than b4, but was just an interim fit, we now have a proper high nose for the car & the front wing is a lot wider/deeper than it used to be. There's a few pics here

http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f...

of a customers car with the new nose & wing. Only reason I was out with it in these conditions was because it was booked for its DVLA registration inspection - had to cancel last week due to snow, so was determined to get it there this time. Was only taking it fairly gently, & main roads were reasonably clear, but still got wheelspin in both 2nd & 3rd, good way of keeping me alert - not that I was falling asleep at -1 degree C in my thermals/jeans/overalls/one piece bike suit. Got tugged by the Plod on my return from DVLA (first time ever in the Furore!)"do you know your car has no number plates?" ............... "Errr, not sure, could yoou hum me the first few bars!!" He calmed down once I showed him the DVLA paperwork & I then got "so how many Bhp has it got?" followed by, "what engine have you got in it?" - I think our Police are wonderful - sometimes!biggrin
