Advice needed!!!
Discussion
Hi all
Please can you help me with advice about IVA's. I'm thinking of buying a part finished BEC. I know this topic has probably come up loads of times before so I apologise if I repeat previous questions.
It is a carb engined car, is it correct that a cat cannot be fitted to a carb engine? If so how do you get around this for the IVA? How/where do you go to get a VIN number stamped on the vehicle? I presume it depends on if it is being registered on an age related plate, is this correct? If not do the manufacturers do it when the kit is complete? if so how much is this? Are aero screens accepted for the IVA?
Many thanks in advance for your help.

You really don't seem to be starting from the best place to buy a part finished kit, I'm afraid. You simply don't know enough about it. Even if the questions you have posed here were to be answered, there are loads more questions you haven't even asked yet.
If you really want to buy a kit car, pay a bit extra and get one that has already been finished.

What a lovely welcome to the kitcar forum.
I would start with downloading the IVA manual and having a look at that.
Does the manufacturer have a dedicated forum/owners club? That would be a good start.
LocostBuilders is a great place to have a look as there are loads of different cars built on there.

There's nothing like a warm welcome is there?
Yeah, sure. What I said is true, though, even if it is unwelcoming. In my line of work I've seen lots of cars that people have bought without knowing enough about them, and it either ends in lots of extra paying out, or tears, or more likely both.Gassing Station | Kit Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
