Under-valued my Car?
Discussion
Found out today I've lost my rented garage so my cars got to go. I put it ebay with what I thought was a reasonable reserve and its reached the it in less than a hour and just 4 bids. I was in this situation 3 years ago when I lost another garage but got this one at the last minute. I haven't driven the car much since and was planning to sell it anyway but when people want it this much I feel I should keep it.

wasn´t this car for sale about 1.5years go? definately same picture!!!!
also V5 hasn´t been updated with new engine size...and no word about that in the advert. V5 states 1147CC!!
pictures seem to be "old"...as you state yourselves in the advert...so how is the actual condition?
no enginebay pictures: so it could be tidy or a mess!!
"Speedo cable's broken": isnt that broken on 99% of such cars in UK?
i presume a lot of foreign bidders?
and if you think you have set the price too low...why you dont stop the auction and re-advertize it? its YOUR money!!! and what you mean "you set the price too low?"--> the starting bid was 99pence!!!
also, who´s guaranteeing us that you didnt push-up the price yourselves via 2nd, 3rd or friend´s ebay-accounts and now using this platform to advertize your car under the cloak of the clueless?
i know, that all sounds harsh...but that´s how ebay unfortunately works today!!!

The last three cars I sold a Banham an early Triumph Spitfire and a Robin Hood all went to Holland for prices which were more than I expected. A lot more.
I believe out kit cars registration system is still, even with IVA much more user friendly than Continental requirements.
No doubt an expert on Pistonheads who really knows the system can confirm this.
I believe its not the car its the UK registration that makes them so attractive to continental buyers but I am NOT an expert.

is it Target cars? so you will find your car soon again at PH classifieds section for a much higher price.
especially target cars buys cars in UK, does nothing to them (even doesnt clean them), re-advertize them but nobody buys them...its interesting how many cars this dealer has collected in the past years...and now, most of them rot away in his storage...a shame!!!
speedon in dronten is another dealer which seems to have a better turnaround.
the british registration in general does not help for EU-matters....there are other reasons.
e.g. its IMPOSSIBLE to re-register a kit with a new-er registration, or even an actual registration, in most of the EU-countries.

I sold a chevrolet pick-up to Target a few years ago, they transfered funds to me 3 days prior to collect, a driver turned up from Holland at the time agreed with an artic collected the truck, totally hassle free + sold at the price I wanted.especially target cars buys cars in UK, does nothing to them (even doesnt clean them), re-advertize them but nobody buys them...its interesting how many cars this dealer has collected in the past years...and now, most of them rot away in his storage...a shame!!!

I'd definatley sell to them again

Holland is a bit easier than the rest of euroland...but actual/recent reg.-dates also fail due to emissions. older reg. dates are easier to register everywhere
So how old would an English kit car need to be before it could be put on the road in Holland, and, for instance, Germany? Gassing Station | Kit Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
