Registering and number plates
Discussion
I've found a number plate I want to use on the DVLA site on the Libra once it is finished and their fee includes transfer fees. What do I need to do post SVA to get this number straight away and does this mean I can save anything on the registration fees?
Also, is there anywhere online that sells stick on number plates?
Cheers, Rich

You can buy the number plate straight away and keep it for up to a year, before you put it on the car, I just bought my plate and kept it till I had my SVA and then handed to the registration office along with the SVA certificate, I think they charged me for 1st registration along with the price for the tax disc. All this was for a new build could be different for a dated plate.

Stick on number plates these days are a bit tricky legally, as you need to be a registered plate maker.....Unless, you go to a trailer place and buy the letters and backings although you might struggle finding a white front. alternatively get a vinyl sign company to make one up.
Look on the PH viper forum, as they have no end of plate issues, and Viper (called Neil really) actually runs a sticker shop doing just such things.
