I am looking at having a set made by them.Anyone here done the same. Would it be best to go straight to them to get the correct off-sets rather than just order the wheel size over the internet??.

I may have to pay a visit. As i dont want a fk up on my behalf.I want the wheels to fit flush with the arch. Its for a Corvette C6.Thanks for the contact name. I'm looking at 18,s on the front with 19,s on the rear with the HT style. From looking at the price guide it looks like around £1800 for four wheels.

had a set of billet rims done for my lambo rep, really nice rims well made, if you are having split rims i went for the rear fitment so the bolt heads are recessed ( alot easier to clean !! )

The billet rims are a bit pricey for me. I'm opting for the cast wheels.

My Halibrands came from Image and I was there in person to collect them. I asked nicely and got shown around the factory. I would recommend them, especially for one offs and custom builds as they build everything by hand.

Had two sets from Image over the years. Very obliging chaps. Had a minor snafu on the last set due to a misunderstanding on their part - I ordered silver hubs but they sent polished, it was sorted out straight away with no hassle or cost to me.

Also had cause to send one back for repair a while back as well - the inner rim was badly scored up due to an upright snapping. They rebuilt the wheel for me with a new inner rim at minimal cost.

No connection, just a satisfied punter.

I hope you have better luck than I have.
Lots of people happy with them.
Recently I've made a couple of technical enquiries, and have always had a prompt albeit short replies from Harry.

I'm in the process of having a bespoke brake setup made, and before I gave it the go ahead, the people who are doing the brakes for me wanted a CAD profile of the rim to make sure we could package the setup.
I asked for this, but was told,

"sorry can not help you with this because we have different rim sections we can use for this and do not have time to draw up all different options.
the best thing to do is for you to give me the drawings of the brake set up and wheel size you need and I will advise if we can do them and clear the brakes."

Odd I thought, as surely the rim widths will be different but the profile would be the same? Anyway, they where sent the CAD drawings of the setup.
Nearly a month back now.
Still waiting for a reply.

I sent the same enquirey to Mike Barnby (Who has a reputation for being painfully slow!) and got the answer I needed by 8:30 the following morning.

Maybe you'll have more luck if your wheels don't require any effort to supply.
Guess where I'll be buying my wheels from? smile

It's always useful to hear from both sides/experiences. I doubt there's a single supplier out there with 100% of 100% happy punters so it's all good info.

A friend with a little Lotus single seater took his car to them the other week and came back a happy man with a set of wheels on the way.

A classic case of YMMV I suppose and as you say, no doubt depends on whether your enquiry fits their methods.

I've found Compomotive very speedy and helpfull with information too. wink
Superlight where not any help at all, and Revolution didn't reply to e-mails. Which was dissapointing, as I've used their wheels since the 80's.

I suppose not wanting something off the shelf doesn't help. rolleyes
From what I can gather, Mike doesn't seem very good at sending stuff.
So I'll have to jump on an aeroplane and go and see him face to face.
The only one so far besides Compomotive who gave me the info I needed.

I suppose taking the car to them doesn't get any easier than that for them.
Unfourtunately, I live on a rock in the middle of the Med!
Then again, I wonder how many folks send them CAD drawings? smile

I've had 2 sets of wheels from Image for my Caterham. I just gave them the backdepth I needed and the wheel width and they made them to suit. They arrive when they say they will arrive and, when I had a problem with one of the sets (the bolts were slightly long and fouled the brake caliper), they sent a courier to collect them and returned them fixed 3 days later.

That's why I was surprised Shaun, I've only heard good things about them.
Maybe I should have chased a bit more? But The Guys at BDG didn't get a response either, so maybe he couldn't botherd to tell me they couldn't help.

Anyway, I found someone who could be bothered to help me.

Ive had a set of rims from Image, all were ok till I set them back to be refurbished after paint got chipped, came back full of orange peel and the split rims were leaking badly, on checking found half the bolts werent even tightened, just finger tight, had to split and redo myself completely. Wasnt happy as they had had them for 5 wks and was told 2 week turn round, on phoning was then told I was lucky to get them back as normally takes 10 weeks! someone up there had no idea hopefully mine was a one off as most seem happy.

I want to keep the same tyres. So it will be a 19inch rear with 18,s on the front.I was going for the cast HT style. What do you fell,s reckon. Will it suit??.I seem to think so.
