Hi there, wanting to shorten a jag irs by about 4'' per side, does anyone know anyone who can do this, i'm based in the southwest near bath so a reasonably local firm would be good, also what ballpark figure would i be looking at for the job???
thanks

Dunno if he's local, but I'd certainly reccomend www.berrisford.co.uk for driveshafts.

I got mine made there....As far as I'm aware cut and shut driveshafts aren't "legal" when it comes to IVA, obviously if you just just one end down to shorten it you'd be ok, but how would you get the splines on? Berrisford make new shafts from scratch.

I would send them to Wisbeech engineering as you really need a jig to do them well.

i spoke to wisbech roday, they cut out the middle, press fit a sleeve over the top, and then weld the ends. They certainly seem to know what they are doing by the sounds of it, bottom arms 75 a pair, drive shafts 110, so about 220 all in which isnt bad at all!

So is that legal then to cut and shut driveshafts? Can't remember where I read it wasn't...must have been wrong.

Perfectly legal, so long as the tester is happy with the quality of the shortening job.
Most cobra kits go through IVA with shortened Jag rears smile
