Favour from Westie / Tiger owners Selby, N. Yorks
Discussion
Now then.
Looking for a bit of a favour here...
I'm formalising plans for my next car/s and have a few options. One of these options is a built Westfield or Tiger (depending on price and which can fit my child-bearing hips in).
Problem is I have ever only been in a Caterham 7 on a track day thing and a Tiger about 7 years ago so don't really know if they're too hardcore for me now at my ripe age (39...).
Thus my favour is if there is anyone around Selby that owns one if you would be willing to let me ride shotgun for a quick blast to see if I'm hard enough?
I'm about 6ft 2in, weigh 14 stone and like I say may struggle in a narrow body thing.
As the owner of the cheese shop in Selby I can pay you in cheese for your time!!
Drop me a line and see if we can sort something out?
Ta.
Dick.

I recently rented a Caterham for a day for a blast around the North Yorkshire moors.
I thought the widebody would be the best option, being nearly 6ft and 15+ stone.
I found that I had to wind my seat as far forward as it would go and I could just reach the pedals (great experience tho' !)
I think if (when) I hire one again, I'd go for the narrower one.

That's why I keep seeing the grey one around Helmsley then with different drivers. I've been pondering why there appears to be so many grey Caterhams around the moors I thought the widebody would be the best option, being nearly 6ft and 15+ stone.

If you're considering joining the fold, get yourself over to Stoneleigh on the first May bank holiday weekend for the best kitcar show around these parts.
There will be loads of manufacturers cars to try, plus thousands of owners in their cars all willing to talk at you until you pass out from information overload.

I think you may struggle to be comfy in a std Cat ,when I have passengered in a freinds I find it tight even in the pass side ,ok I'm fairly wide 44/46 " chest and have to sit slightly side ways to allow him to change gear easily because of shoulders rubbing .I'll now chance incurring an amount of incoming derision but my early Robin Hood i more comfy [this is personal pref , can't afford a Cat] bye fore now
in terms of a Cat depends how it was screwed together - the one i bought was built by a big guy who was about 6'3 and he was fine driving it - infact i struggled to reach the pedals as he was using seat pads against the rear bulkead - another chap i know who is also ' large framed' is fine with his. Certainly a Cat would be the larger of the Tiger range......

We can supply the SuperCat as standard or XL. The XL version has an extra 40mm 'across the hips'. Does not sound much but makes a huge difference.Steve
