hi,

i have been wanting for quite some time now a 7 style kit car powered by a bike engine, maybe an R1, blade or zx10 or similar. the thing is i have never even been in one. i was wondering if anyone in the southeast or bucks area has one and wouldnt mind taking me out for a spin (not literally). im not looking to drive it, unless you offer of course, i just feel i cant go and be a test pilot in one of the classifieds which i have no intention of buying as that sort of thing would really annoy me if it were the other way round.

so if anyone has one and is out for a drive and wouldn't mind a passenger. please give me a shout.

cheers

Tom.

If you speak to some of the companies that specialise in them (MK or Mac#1) they are usually happy to give a ride to people interested in buying a car. The Mac#1 ZX10R powered car I was taken out in just blew me away.

if you can, try and make it to stoneliegh on May bank holiday, between Coventry and Warwick. probably the biggest kit car show/meet in the world

4000+ kit cars attend including hundreds of sevens, many are bike engined. All of the major kit manufacturers attend too so you can ask as many questions as you like and the owners and builders are always happy to talk about their cars until you are bored sick. biggrin

I couldn't agree more, anyone remotely interested in building their own car or just interested in sports cars of any type should pop along. It's open on the Sunday and the Monday. I dare say if you were to ask nicely someone might even take you for a short trip around the show too. Lots of room for camping.

Get yourself to Stoneleigh show (Sun afternoon or Mon morning is best) and chat to the dozens (100's?) of BEC car owners. You should be able to blag a ride in one. Most of us enjoy scaring the st out of BEC virgins.

I would also recommend Stoneleigh, or if you can't make that then Detling (Maidstone) can't be too far from you & is shortly after Stoneleigh.

I'm based at Benfleet (20 mins from Dartford Crossing M25) & will happily take you for a run in the ZZR1400 Furore F1, (& promise not to try & sell you a car!) but will have to be pretty shortly as I have taken a deposit on the demonstrator for delivery around start May, & won't havve anopther demonstrator for at least a month, maybe a bit more

Probably too far away, but if your in the Southampton area I have a Hayabusa powered Rush and the passenger seat has your name, (temporarily!), on it!

If you can, get yourself to Llandow on Saturday 14th Mayf for the CKC track day. There will be plenty there and I'm sure some will be happy to take you out. If I make it, I'll be happy to, but not a 7 style.

Thanks for all the response. I am actually going away for 5 days on Thursday so can't make the show. Craig I may well give you a shout when I'm back. Thanks again.

Tom, no worries. Just email through the forum if and when you want a spin and we can see what we can do.
