holy tank!

I discovered the dreaded rust through on my 3000S fuel tank at the weekend. I've heard that these have been re-manufactured in Aluminum and Stainless. Anyone had any experience in replacing their tanks and is there any advantage/disadvantage between the 2 types?

I replaced mine last year with an aluminum one last year. Easy to fit and no prolems.

Replaced mine last year, with a new aluminium one from Adrian Venn. The only problem was that the rubber filler pipe, being 33 years old was rock hard, so I replaced that as well, which cured the fumes in the boot.

replace mine with a s/s and new filler hose from David Gerald, easy installation, vapour problem solved !
