Anyone happen to know where these arches are from or are they custom made on the car? Think my Taimar could do with a pair..biggrin

They are the current acceptable arch shape to run in Fia. Nigel rueben had this form accepted with the Fia and you can purchase the arches from him. personally I like the orignal form arch with a subtle flare rather than the open design.

Adrian at Exactly TVR can supply you with M series SE arches, not quite as the ones shown in your photo, but a flared arch specifically for the M series.

I like these.

But you cab get a 9J rim on a Taimar and not hit the arches, so why widen?

Another trick is to cut the top part of the arch off, pull out and glass in another inch or so, to widen the arch but retain the original Taimar profile

Why? mostly cosmetic reasons i suppose, im contemplating a retro racer image for a rebuild, it wont be stock as i dont have running gear sorted yet but it might be built on later tvr mechanicals...so more of a custom than stock....plus i happen to have some slightly wider than normal wheels and tyres to go under it too...spin

Here's Jos's (Intermediates) race car with the SE arches to accomodate bigger brakes.

Also lots of headroom.

now we're getting somewhere. Thanks for all the pics gents. SlowM are those Adrian@ SE arches in above pics? I quite like the manx tail mod on this one, radical i know but seems to improve the side profile (in my opinion), though the front TR3 grill mod (see http://www.britishracecar.com/DennisDeLap-TVR-2200... is a like it or hate it thing (personally its not to my taste, but thats only my opinion and who asked for it! I think the overall build is a quality job, well done)

More pics the better to help convince me to go the SE arch route or not. Any other projects on the go with body mods being contemplated? Thanks all.

Taimar with 9 inch rear rims, no major arch mods, inner lip removed at top of arch.

Bit of an oddball but I must admit the cam tail treatment quite suits the car. In this cast I think he started with a shell that had been rear ended, wonder if you could graft a Griff 400/Grantura rear onto one?

I love the colour.

To my eye, it's sitting too high.
