I am wondering if anyone has fitted a proper 6-3-1 tubular exhaust manifold to a TVR 2500. My car currently has a 6-2-1 and I have been thinking of putting on a proper scavenging exhaust. Is there any problem with fitment ? I know Phoenix performance makes one but the primaries are not equal on theirs. Anyone know who makes a proper 6-3-1 unit and if it will fit the TVR 2500? Good Parts in the USA also makes one but i am not sure if it is any better than Phoenix's unit.
thank you for the help

The triumph engine relies on a serious rear silencer to develop power. they are almost classified as a Megaphone extractor and are really good on a vixen.

I have found one for sale..

Not sure what Heightswitch is going on about. I have been away for a very long time and my 280i is no more. I did just pick up a 2500 in need of some love. This car also has a 6-2-1 unit but from the look of it there is enough room. The Phoenix is a poor copy of the Mike the pipe unit that was made in the 70s and 80s. Still better than any6-2-1 but still not great because the Primaries are not the same length. I did have a look at the Goodparts manifold and it looks a bit better than the Phoenix but i have no idea if it will fit. If you do try to fit one let us know.

1.) Determine what your engine expectations will be.
2.) Get a software suite named PipeMax.
3.) Test-run components against one another.

You'll notice, that the various iterations of straight six tubular header system all bring something to the table. they'll all move peak BHP, and peak torque up and down, and should be coordinated with other component selection/design.

Contact Jelli. He has a new exhaust for his race TR6 and found gobs of torque. I think it was made by Kevin at Zero Exhausts.

I have quite a few TR6 and TVR Vixen bits for sale including a 2500 Triumph engine and a 6-3-1 stainless manifold if anyone's interested.

Some other TVR things on my web site too... www.wolfitt.com

That is a very odd 6-3-1 manifold, i have never seen one quite like that one before. Who made it or were did it come from? Its very odd to see the the 2nd and 3rd cylinders joint on the primaries as well as the 4th and 5th joined. I would think the performance would be no better than a typical 6-2-1 as there would be no scavenging effect like that of a true 6-3-1 unit. The welds look very nice its just very odd the builder did not join the correct cylinders.

Phoenix stuff is fine for the road, but will do "Zero" for midrange power.

It is a cheap bolt on solution. The Tubi one John has for sale looks defiante improvement. But if you want to make the thing really shift or really fill out your torque curve call Kevin at ZERO exhaust in Kent, not cheap though winksmile
