3000m NACA ducts and side vents

Does anyone know why the later M models were no longer fitted with the above? I wondering if its due to their ineffectiveness of just to save cost?

My understanding was they were deleted but available as a cost option, which would suggest it was cost.

I think they were only on the 2500M.

A had a 2500M put on my 3000M when I had a slight "incident" in it, cos I liked the duct and the big gaping intake (no split across the centre of the grill).

They did nothing, purely cosmetic.

They were available on the 3000M's also.

Ah Ok - if doing know I'd have kept the non vent and two opening grill at the front - tastes change - ALONG time ago!
