What is it worth..?1974 TVR 2500M - Ford 5.0 L GT40 Engine
Discussion
This has come up a couple of times on US Ebay..
I live over here now, having sold my S before leaving the UK and have TVR as a search in my Ebay account.
It looks stunning, albeit non standard.
Reserve not met..!
Take a look:

Whatever someone wants to pay for it I suppose.
Some will hate it and others who aren't as bothered about originality will love it. personally there are bits of detail I like and other bits which I couldn't live with. It would be difficult to value but looking at the condition of the running gear and the body / Chassis I would say certainly a fair bit more than the highest bid!!
Difficult one.

Looks like someone got it for a shade over £12k which is, ahem, extremely reasonable (ok, I think it's a raving bargain and would have loved to have won it for that price over here). It looks a pretty tidy build from the pics, although not sure that missing out the engine mounts is a good plan longer term.
I did like the bit that said the 'Exhaust is a 3" straight tube with resonators and 45 degree tips ( it is loud !!!) but sounds great.'
I'd imagine it's ear-bleedingly loud.

^ +1 Don't think it's a great plan to route chassis stresses across that particular block.
I'd love to know what it feels like, and how it performs.
Z Chrome is not the best product for fiberglass. (It's self etching)
Best,
B.

Looking at the pics more closely, this Taimar chassis appears different to mine. It has no cross-member between the mid suspension mounts where the spring/shock top mount bolt is, and also it looks like some additional strengthening has been added to the top mount. Is this a known different chassis layout or has the cross member been removed? For sure this 302 uses block hugger manifolds and appears to be located 4-6 inches further forward than the one in the 5000M build thread which routed the exhaust manifold up/forwards/down.
Appreciate any pearls of wisdom anyone has to share on this Taimar chassis
cheers
Nick
Oh, and did anyone spot that the doors don't have wind-up windows, or any windows at all? Must be a sunny-day car
