2500m doors

You know, I don't remember having this problem 35 years ago when I owned two 2500Ms, but I find it very difficult to get into my current 2500M...perhaps it's me. Anyway, the door is constantly trying to close on me is I'm trying to squeeze in. Has anyone fabricated a mechanism to hold the door open like on a typical car? With the light switches between the hinges, it doesn't appear there is any place to put such a mechanism.
