What are these wheels ?
Discussion
Hello everybody,
I picked on PH Classified a picture of this wellknown Taimar !
The fact is that i find that these wheels are perfect with the design of this car.
An, maybe, the will have a superb effect on my M too.
But, i don't know what is the brand, what is the model, and even where i can find some.
Any ideas ?
Cheers
Jerome

Might be of interest to some classic owners but I've been trying to find someone to make me a set of 17" Rostyles from bullet alloy for my '72 Rangie project as I need slightly larger wheels for the larger brakes and want to switch to modern alloys to use tubeless tyres.
Anyway, I was in the village pub the other weekend where there are a few serious Landy guys and talking about this and learnt something interesting:
Nearly all the old classic steel designs used by Leyland and other UK companies in the 60s through to 80s were licensed copies of US muscle car designs from Ford or GM.
As the US retro market is enormous I visited Google and sure enough there are plenty of companies in the US making brand new steel and alloy versions of these old designs that I used to think we're English.
Check out These two sites as they are the main suppliers in the US and have UK agents:
http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/wheel_detail.asp?su...
http://www.americanracing.com/wheels/
Obviously being American they chrome the s
t out of them but you can order with different finishes and different nut spacings etc.
This firm is probably the cheapest to buy and ship through and seems to have good reviews and retails stock at around half the rrps: http://mrwheeldeal.com/b/

These are Wolfrace (now obsolete) wheels and were an option on the 'M',Taimar and S, MY thoughts, are that if you are buying wheels look for the 15 inch version.

As Adrian correctly states ...Adrian@
Wolfrace wheels were fitted to Reliant Scimitar SE6..
Most likely in a 14" diameter

Weren't they on the Starsky and Hutch car?
Yes, but I don't think Ford put them there, standard wheels were a pressed steel wheel very similar to a Rostyle.they were possibly Appliance Slot Mags, very similar to Wolfrace.
Wolfrace have re-issued their wheel bit it's a rather "tamed down" version..... clicky

The Anson Sprint is a much nicer modern version of the slot mag than the Wolfrace one I think. they were possibly Appliance Slot Mags, very similar to Wolfrace.

Pretty sure they wouldn't fit as the Triumph studs are a different PCD.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
4 x 114.3 IIRC.
Bought these Bad Boys today....

Not Wolfrace but Appliance "Dish Mags" from the 70's, virtually unused and fitted with some new (well, 30 year old) huge fat Dunlops, no size on the tyres, think they were made exclusively for XJS Jags (and found their way onto many a Beach Buggy) back then

Not sure what I'll end up doing with them but price was right and a bit of a nostalgia trip, had some exactly same as these ( 15 x 7 ) on a Mustang when I was a youngster.
