Hello!
I refurbished the Webasto sunroof
of my M.
Now after remounting the roof on the car
the roof doesn't get closed again.
Maybe I did something wrong when composing the
closing mechanics.
Has anyone an image of the closing hook in closed condition (see photo).
Maybe my one is too far back into the hole?

Have you replaced the material of the sunroof? Or at least removed it?
I had the same problem on my vixen the actual length of the hood material when it was mounted onto the front and rear plates,it must have been slightly shorter than the old one, as I couldn't get my roof to close. My remedy was to slot the rear holes, slightly, in the fibre glass (be careful not to go too much!),so it could slide forward.
The other option would be to remove/refit the sunroof material?

Hm, that could be the point.
I hope not...
When I turn the lever to close position
it goes very hard at last and before
the lever is in closed position the
hook hops out of the hole.

I`ve let renew the top hood of the roof from a
Webasto specialist in UK who also changed the back
plate of the roof which was rotten.

Thanks anyway.

Yes sounds like its too tight. Ask someone to watch the action of the front panel as you attempt to lock it off. If the front lifts away from the body its too tight.

Critical to the 'length' of the hood is the webbing that runs front to back of the hood within the welded edges (or stitched on replacement covers) if these are wrong then it would need 'adjusting'. .

When the front and rear plates get replaced it is best to measure the complete assembly on the car so that the webbing and the compression rivets can be put in place correctly.

Yes, that could be the Problem.
Only my roof went to England,
the car stayed here.

the suplier has to take care about your problem.

YOU sent him your old roof as template, YOU paid money, HE has to supply you a roof which fits, which HE doesnt. so its up to HIM to solve YOUR problem or HE has to refund you a cetain amount of money.

I think you're basically right.
But I also think the easier, faster and healthier (for me) way to solve the problem
is to fix it by my own and don't think too much about it.
I would like to drive the car next time and
if I send the roof to UK another time this will take a time...

And with a little luck this summer will be as beautifull
that I don't need to close my roof!
