You need to properly weed all your block paving and the whitewood also needs a coat of paint...I find these chores tend to get the necessary brownie points required to carry on long term with the hobby...

I am currently laying an oak floor hehe

I really should buy brick patio cleaner from work - acid based but don't want my dogs feet getting hurt.

Mick,
Might I suggest that you look at the inner door channel for being broken, this sets the attack rake to the door seals for the alloy window frame and the angle for/aft in the door aperture, (once the door shell is in it's correct place the frame is attached with tap-it's then the rest is correct adjustment of the stop channel).

Thank you Adrian@

its something I've been needing to ask you about.

I don't totally know what you mean, any chance of a picture and then i can show you mine.

The passengers is the same with the alloy frame but the door physically needs lifting up when closing. its alot worse then drivers :-(

Apart from the actual new parts (which show nothing) I have not got one with the door trim off...Rake is set from under the door (with bolts and slots in the two stop plates) and angle for/aft is set on the two bolts that bolt those stops to the door shell, BUT then, this need to be attached to the alloy frames (have a look first). The passenger door sounds like the hinges, (I do S/S pins with glacier bearing rebuilds on them).

Looks like that's my next new parts :-)

but not at the moment :-(

I know in the door there's the two metal plates with three bolts in each.

i and my dad have fitted the doors numerous times. all the paint lines match up so its defiantly other problems.

i shall look later if i can.

I know i did look at fitting a space to tilt the door but the bolts that hold the door hinges to the car the nuts just spin and are tricky to get to.

Lovely car there, I have enjoyed reading the refurb posts and hope you will continue to post as you improve and update bits. A word of advice, probably often dispensed, NEVER get rid of that car, you will regret it!

I know exactly what your saying. I've had my corsa from brand new, and never will get rid of her and never will get rid of my taimar.

I still need to post up all the resto pics and write up but have blown my power unit on pc... so may well do it on my phone - so please excuse the bad punctuation and typos lol.

Weird still lookin back 3 months ago she was just pieces all over the floor... now 1 month in i love driving her at any chance i can :-)

Best thing i ever did was the Tvr... i mean gettin married 5 Nov 2011... my wife said she'd never get in the Tvr but loves it now :-)

Cars looking good Mick yes, having an understanding wife helps too, as long as they don't see ALL the receipts

Cheers Ian its nice to get good feed back.

Trish - my wife knows all the receipts... but i used the line of "well i could be peeing it all up a wall or on some slappers" hehehe she doesn't like that answer but knows its a good answer :-)

She's understanding as from day one all I've ever been is car mad :-D !!!

From now (car being complete i do spend more time either her... During the rebuild i was in the garage after work at half five until 1am sometimes solid and lost track of time. Worth it all tho.

i love the "thumbs up" that i get from other old car goers - beetles granaders mgbg but most of all bikers. they nod their heads and give thumbs up.. it quite a good feeling of "wow!!!!"

and pride knowing i did nearly all myself. my dad did the welding of the outriggers, helped me by buying a colortune, dwell angle meter feeler gauges and lending me a timing light. things when I was little watching my dad i fully understood but after years growing up, forgotten.

Ha ha , used that line before....well not the slappers part anyway, have learned to keep quiet when she buys anything though, keeps a running total in her head which is strangely quite accurate

Well tbh thinkin about it i probably do give Trish alot of grief... Tvr this Tvr that... ways the weather like today.. could take Tvr for a run... its all she ever hears Lmao.

Just fitted some speakers to rear shelf... it had two massive 10 speakers in which were 'past it'

So mdf from work... smaller then the extremities of the shelf and sandwiched the shelf between two piece and in the old speaker holes cut smaller 6" holes for my new speakers. alpine type R... from my best man at my wedding. £20 couldn't say no. the tweeters were knocked but i knew those. anyway...

i didn't have a hole saw or drill bits but had a new wire brush for the grinder but a cup one not a flat one... ten mins later the speakers were fitted :-)

Had them working for about a week and just fitted the crossovers in. used the little speakers on the sides of the rear as tweeters..

To say they're effectively fitted in mid air they sound extremely well.... even better then expected after i dropped one!!

The obvious comment - were the doors hanging correctly when the car was painted?
