Hello guys,
I have a RVI negative ground tachometer in my Vixen which doesn't work (see picture).
Before I bring it away to be repaired I want to be sure that is is connected correctly.
I still use points and have no electronic ignition.

It has a good earth to the case and a 12V fused connection to the spade.
A live wire from the ignition switch goes in a loop through the nylon insulation block to the
+ side of the coil. I already changed the way of the loop. Any suggestions?

Just wondering if you have the insulator block for the "loop". Your tach will not work with out it. This unit should be wired the same as an MGB of the middle 60's vintage.

Yes I have the insulation block. This picture comes from internet.
This one is indeed missing the nylon block.

Is it possible to post a picture showing how you are "looping" the wire through the nylon block? Do you have the metal bit that goes over the block and under the fixing?

I have the nylon block and the metal plate what goes on top and held in place with a nut.

Before the restoration the tacho worked perfectly. It has been dry stored in house for 4 years.

The loop and parts weren't removed at the back of the tacho when I stored it.
