Decided while playing with the car to fit ine of the spare middle boxes i had but with the bafflesknocked through.


Took the stainless one off and fitted the mild one.


With the middle box only revved its loud. Fitted the rear end with kidney boxes and standard noise.

So looked down my stainless box and its straight thru anyway but down both of the internal pipes is a spiral insert (for words) so a little puzzled. With the stainless box on only its loud but very raspy.


So put the mild middle box back on but this time i had the car running and pulled off the rear section while running. The little kidney boxes appear to deafen the noise and the middle box equalise both sides of the engine ?


Anyway at the same time my dad helped me to retune the carb.. Decided to not use the colortune but alter then go for a run and now at a happy setting.




My question is should i expect a powerloss? Torque loss?
Would I gain anything by less restrictive exhaust parts (excluding the manifolds which i know would help)

Is standard best? Also whats peoples opinions on standard exhaust noise compared to loud tuned noise?


What do other people have if anything?
