this is a grantura that has been racing until recently, and i can testify that it is not a nice job to cut out the floors without a force fed mask. i would hazard a guess that the chassis needs attention or is this what could be called lightweight! best regards keith

Thought you were taking it easy in semi retirement Keith??

Bye the way I am starting to stick that body shell together. What is the measurement between the door pillar and the bulkhead for clearance for the hinges?? Was it 3.5 inches??

Interesting to see the Grantura chassis. Is the car going to go back to racing after the rebuild?

heres what mine looked like when the previous owner stripped off the body work

Mine?

The whole chassis was replaced by the previous owner. Some of the rails were completely rusted through to nothing!

The Grantura chassis doesn't look too bad.

yes niel, it's as you say, just cut a couple of blocks to size and make sure they stay there! i am taking it easy, duncans doing that work. he's also doing a genuine lwb tuscan v8 which i did the chassis for and the fibreglass is in remarkable nick, more than could be said for the chassis. going back as a bolt on body and i will post some pics of the done job. best regards keith

When I removed my Griff 200 body I only (well mainly) removed the fibreglass at the outriggers and managed to leave the rest mostly intact. I then made new "channel formers" to go over the outriggers and just glassed in.

Seems easier than removing the entire floor.

Certainly creates some dust though!
