heater matrix...
Discussion
So been running the tiv with no heating since march... The small battery failed and a previous owner rellaced it with a normal sized battery (bmw badged tk be precise) and also the alternator for a modern rover one...
Also had the car like this sk ran as this.
Decided to have a look at the heater box and found it came to bits...

Suprisingly the matrix looked decent... Even plugged the hose pipe on, blocked the exit and wound the tap up - all seems ok. When i removed my thumb, water cleared the roof of the garage, no apparent leaks, so we have a happy mick!
Upon further looking it got a sticker from a York company and looks very new!
Gonna ring them up tomorrow and hopefully ask a date when sold etc

So now for some half inch diameter hose to feed from the water pumps metal pipe, to heater, back to the carb.
One will have hearing soon!!!
Now, all about the blower... I recall Adrians advice with regards phillpot.
My one problem is the battery, relocate like the 'S' series to front of chassis, cerb in passenger footwell or find a smaller physical size battery but with enough power still and locate at front. The current one is a little bit to sit on the chassis rails to which I feel safe with. :-/

Can someone take a pic of their battery, along with dimensions and CCA ratings or battery type/model number. So far I've told of a Micra battery, 135mm wide, 230mm long but 220mm high to terminal tops. However 390a and 45AH.
Another option I've been given is from a Hyundai coupe. All based on dimensions I measured from what i think is the battery recess.

Just checked back on photo's of the battery in my 3000S before strip down and it shows a Type 015

This measures 130mm wide x 210mm tall x 220mm long with the width and height being critical to fit the space.
Found this using google which seems a pretty close match.
Also googled the Type 049 and that would seem to fit as well but is a bit taller so you'd need to be sure on the height available on your car but width should be OK.
Both seem to be down a bit on owners manual recommendation of 57Ah but CCA of 320/330 should be fine.

Cheers for the help lads, i have a mate who works for a local motor factor and priced me around the £32 area including 3 or 4 years warranty depending on type.
However gonna try and pop down to dry fit/be a tight git and buy one from a civic at scrappy for a tenner.
Next thing is to look at the heater blower, and replacement options :-)
