Neil, what % shrinkage are you seeing, between the pattern and the resulting parts?

Best,

Has anyone tried the balljointed front uprights? From Cranley?

On the FRONT upright Q...My understanding from is that these are not a straight fit onto the TVR and a bespoke sub axle has to be found...as the stub axle that is used in the kit is not as the TVR ...that said, Dave said he was not averse to setting up a prepaid order method for these items to be made in batches along side his current version.

What are they asking for the stub axles then?

and

In what way do the stub axles differ to standard Triumph/TVR stub axles?

It is the upright that is different.

Dave (at Canley Classis's) would make a batch of the correct uprights(min 5 sets) BUT is not interested getting involved with selling them direct to customers as the technical questions over this kit fitting to a TVR and how it fits to a TVR is not something that he wants to get involved in.

I am just interested to know where can I get these uprights (castings) and for what price. It might be cheaper for me to modify or adapt the upright then making a new casting.
Just to put things right, I am talking about the aluminium rear uprights.

That sort of sums up the whole thread really...it started (well OK the second post) with my rear uprights being copied...

I would understand that sort of, and if that is the thoughts of everyone that you would want to rip off CC's ideas, then it shows a rather poor outlook on things...Just my thoughts.

I am sorry, but I can not understand your thoughts Adrian.
What is wrong if someone offers something for sale and I buy it and make it fit for my needs. Even if you would mean that I would like to copy CC's Triumph new front uprights, this idea for that upright is not new.
But I am talking about the aluminium "S2 rear upright" castings as the topic was titled. Could it be that you missunderstand my weak English.

I was passing comment and deleted the post AND replaced it (as both Dave and Claire at CC are friends) as I realised you were talking about the rear casting ...with a smart remark about the casting which is a COPY of MY casting!!

K, This NOT calling into question what you see here.
BUT I know what are specs are to OUR item, along with the known limits that we were selling these to our customers, combining these with our race testing and customer feed back, WITH, then our updated advisories for combining these with standard TVR parts, BUT, firstly, I would never sell a blank casting and only a completed unit, which obviously does not appeal to you.

I understand Adrian.
just let me explain you may point of view.
You may know that I do some repros of early Grantura (MKI-MKIIa)parts such as rear uprights and aluminium brake back plates. However I would not sell any mashined parts as those days I would be afraid of any lawsuit especially from the USA, and I know I am not the only one.
So in this case I may decide to get my uprights milled from the block before I get a new mould made for a casting.
