My friend with an Austin 1300 running a big valve head and twin 1-3/4 SU. Carbs is running megajolt and I'm impressed with that.

But on standard engine I'm not sure I'd see many gains if at all? Electronic ignition next for mine

Thanks for posting this thread, I'd heard of but couldn't find it. I'm fuel injecting my Essex engine and note they got to the point of realising how tall this approach is.

I can see why individual injectors are better for a race engine, but for a road engine, I don't see what's wrong with CFI/TBI (central or throttle body injection) as it gives complete control over fueling, and can be far more easily adapted to a carb flange fitting (see TWIN 38DGAS thread and Adrian's pic, a perfect example.)

Sure, it's a little less BHP in the overall scheme of things, but not that much, and it's got to be better than a carb for fuel economy. (I remember a quote from someone (David Vizard ?) " compared to digital engine management, a carb is just a calibrated fuel leak " )

I'm guessing Megasquirt can do TBI as well as individual bank and sequential setups ?

Good point - I forgot that companies actually make throttle bodies to replace carbs !!
