I raced at the same meeting this year at spa as said car and watched it race a couple of hours before mine,It sure can shift and what a noise.Every one in my crew wanted to know what was in it as it was by far the fastest TVR in it's race. What a car in the flesh
The Reuben Griffs are much the same wide bodies etc - so its probably a 302 rather than a 289 and bored to...327, 331, or maybe 350+, roller rockers etc etc. Not quite on p16 calipers either
The number plate is familiar but I cant place it maybe ex Tim Fish - its not Jamie Boot's or Lawrence Bailey's

Jamie Boots was also a JNP car. The JNP reg no's often denote a car that was re-registered after repatriation from the states when Chris Schirle brought them back for re-builds in the 80's. JNP were a batch of reg numbers available. Jamie Boots car was JNP 626 I think., Lawrence Baileys car was HYA 4D and was comprehensively rebuilt after Lawrence had a very big incident with it, Interestingly and something I never new....HYA 4D is portrayed in Filbys new book as originally being an 1800s ??The number plate is familiar but I cant place it maybe ex Tim Fish - its not Jamie Boot's or Lawrence Bailey's

Picture of Jamies car taken at Croft a few years back when it was in its prettiest Fia configuration. My car is a very faithful replica of this layout, including the mechanicals.

Not sure yet on 2013 racing plans. Spa 6 Hours for certain, probably Spa Classic or Spa Summer Claasic maybe L'Age D'Or at Dijon and hopefully the marathon at the Oldtimer GP. Only thing is I may well be in a (whispers) m.a.r.c.o.s as I'm afraid its rather quicker than the Grantura.

btw Oldtimer GP at the Ring ? what date ?
That's the plan. Its in August. Only issue is that if you have a problem not much time to sort it before the Spa 6 Hours. Havent raced there for about 5 years but I love it and probably well suited the 1800GT - Tice and Conoley were 3rd last year in theirs behind the Oyenhausen (bent) E type, splitting the 911s of Walter Rohrl amd Jochen Mass. Exalted company for a canoe.Fiscracer said:

The homologated weight is 600kg - the same as a Grantura as it was based on engine capacity, however nobody has got anywhere near that with a Grannie - 700kg if you are very lucky. My Marcos is about 650kg as its set up for endurance racing with big tank etc but its a lot quicker than the Grannie despite less torque and power. It is as much to do with aerodynamics as weight I suspect. We were running 15th in the 2012 6 Hours before the diode pack went in the alternator and blew all the bulbs.
Not much protection in either but frankly I'd rather have a prang in the Marcos as the chassis despite being plywood is very strong and provides a lot more protection for your legs. They are fragile and require even more maintenance than a TVR eg you cant do anything up FT as you just crush the wood.
For anyone interested there's a bit of in car on Youtube from Spa. We have since got set up on the Marcos a bit better so no double pumping etc. Even so 3.04 v 3.12 ish. We hope to get under 3 minutes with some more development and familiarity
