74 2500M: Temperature gauge swap

Guys, I'm thinking of swapping my original temp gauge(electric, I think) for a mechanical one, only because I prefer the look of the full-sweep gauge.

Is this an easy swap to do? Any advice or tips?

Hi Ron,

The most difficult part of the job may be finding an appropriate firewall grommet. You may have to drill a new hole to put the sender unit through. Be very careful not to crimp the capillary tube. Support the tube along its routing path. Coil the excess tubing in smooth radii. If you do this behind the gauge, it'll be a tidy look.
