Woe is me!

I have a chance to buy back my V6 Tuscan that I had to sell as we were developing our house. I paid 8k for it in 2004 and spent 5k on it, took an offer I couldnt refuse at the time and sold it for 15k, rewired, repainted and lovely 2008.

Chaps now emailed me saying he may sell it back but is looking for circa 25k Euro (£21,600) ! Ouch. have they gone up this much?

sorely tempted but funds won't permit unless I sell the Cerb....

Owen,
Sometimes it doesn't matter what it costs, it's what it's worth to you. That car was an amazing example when you had finished with it!

I really hope you get it back! If I wasn't short by about £18k I would buy it in a heart beat.

Surely, that's a starting point for a conversation, isn't it? It's always bid v. asked. Make a reasonable offer.

Maybe, you could even get a loan for the purchase of the one, using the other as collateral.

Best,
B.

Perhaps Ill see what my three year old has managed to save though various birthdays and xmases and get him to contribute. put it in his name as an "investment!" biggrin

Ive become very attached to the Cerb recently so need to find a way to have both! along with the 64 Grantura racer of course which I wont remind my wife about! out of sight out of mind and all that!

whoops, profile update required...911 has gone, im using the cerb as a daily driver. Youre right though.

price wise, its probably not too far off the mark the way classics have gone recently

anyway here it is when I owned it..

Thats £20k for cash.

33% increase in 9 years? Frankly most decent classics have gone up by more than that. I know its not like for like but in the same period E types up probably 100%, TRs, Healeys and MGs up 60% and as for hotter Escorts and early Cortinas..........bonkers

If you liked the car I'd bite his hand off.

I paid 8 for it and spent 5 ( mainly cosmetic) so in real terms its amost doubled in 9 years, gone up 33% in 4 years. Anyway - It is what it is and the real quenstion is what its worth to me and I think I would pay that to get it back. Now its just a question of justifying it! :-)
