Stud length for Minilights on Taimar
Discussion
You have 2 options....
Modify and fit Ford M12 studs, Little snot of weld on the rear pull through...their are 2 types of stud, thin and fat spline...Compare and select the closest to original splines
Failing that Merlin do longer std thread studs, M cars are not really an issue..vixen type cars have screw in studs which are best modified to the pull in type.
There are 2 lengths of stud available in modified length I think something like 70 and 90mm o/a length..
Length depends on your whhl offset, boss thickness and whether you want blind nuts or not...
Race car regs tend to insist on through nuts and a good length of exposed thread through the nut so any length can be used.

That's great info gents, my wallet isn't really big enough to race the car but I am going to look at doing some track days with it, so keeping the wheel on the car is a bonus
Are there any advantages to changing the studs to metric ones?
there a bit thicker and stronger..but probably not really a factor unless you have a 1000hp drag car!!

Use open ended nuts so there are no issues with bottoming out, then exact length is not critical. Imperial nuts and extended studs are becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of - make sure you get a couple of extra studs just in case you cross thread or bust one.
HTH
I've cross threaded two already!! I think these modern wheel nuts must be made of chocolate!HTH
I've just ordered a set of long studs which I can shorten to suit the Minilights and 10mm spacers.
