Vixen (Xflow) starter motor

Has anyone fitted a modern "Hi-Torque" starter motor to their Vixen? Mine is very lazy and I would like to fit something new and reliable but my concern is the clearance of the solenoid to the chassis rail.
I think xflow Lucas pre-engaged starters were available with a couple of different orientations of the solenoid on the motor only some will fit a Vixen. Hence the reason I want to be sure about the solenoid position on a "hi-torque" before I buy one.

The one we got for the Taimar (Wasp) enables you to rotate the starter to move the solenoid into a suitable position. I think it had a few mounting holes for the starter to the plate which then bolted to the bellhousing.

We'll be getting one for the 1600M now, as it spins up so well on the Taimar it's unbelievable, , and our 1600M has high comp and is a bit tight for the standard starter with the standard battery.

I have just fitted a Powerlite starter to my tuned crossflow. The standard motor would only just turn the engine over with the HT leads connected. I had to unbolt the mounting flange and rotate the motor until I could find the position with maximum clearance and then mark the housing and re-drill the flange. Not a difficult job.

Did you use a two bolt starter or a three bolt and what bell housing where you using

It's a standard cortina bellhousing for the hydraulic clutch. I used a two bolt fitting.
