Modern wheels/tyres for Taimar.?

One of the things needed on my Taimar if it is to ever get on the road is new tyres. I am thinking of perhaps a nice set of modern(ish) alloys and more modern rubber, perhaps a larger wheel/ lower profile tyre set up.
Anyone any suggestions as to whats possible to fit, or pictures of M cars with different wheels/tres fitted ...

The top set are a 15" Image wheel and available in all offsets (3 piece split rims), not sure what offset mine are but I run with 7.5J Front, 8.5J rear. They are quite heavy.
The bottom set are 15" compomotive split rims and are no longer available in that design, same story as before, 3 piece split rim...7.5J Front, 8.5J rear. I have another set of these with rims to provide 6J Front and 7J rear. They have a darker centre but look good too. They were a bit of a state when I bought them but had them completely refurbed by PEX wheels in Blackpool.
Depending on how deep your pockets are - Image Wheels do a wide range and can be ordered with pretty well any PCD and Offset. Looks like the two in the picture are from Image. I particularly like these -

I think these would look pretty good as well, not too modern but a bit different -

If you are on a budget google Midland Wheels, they do classic fit wheels.
As for tyres - really depends on use - track dry, fast road, general use.
Track tends to be R888 or A048s, General use - dry - R1R and all weather T1R get good reviews on light cars and there is the evergreen classis Yoko A539 but only available in lmited sizes. May be worth searching the kit car forums to see what they use.
www.camskill.co.uk and www.topgear.co.uk are a good reference for what tyres are available in what size.
You can use www.willtheyfit.com to check sizes/offset/tyres compared to the standard fit.

Panasport do (did?) a lightweight forged Minilite style wheel, that is true to the shape of the spokes used on the larger whels, in period. Please verify the center bore diameter when ordering any aftermarket wheel. Think i will go for some minilite types. So what size do i buy? Can somebody just tell me what size fits and what tyre size to get?? maybe 15 or 16 inch .whatever would be the cheapest tyre size...?

Finished pulling apart, now starting to put back together. 99% of the parts are bought with the exception of the diff cooling circuit, it will take time, maybe another 18 months. Limited by avaiable funds and we keep changing things we thought we were happy with.
It will be worth the wait I'm sure.
When the back ones come and I fit the tyres come and borrow them to see how they fit etc. the tyres are about £50 each at mates rates fitted. Getting the car back from having the exhaust system made on Monday. Wheels are about £170 each , are you now fitting the vixen bonnet if so vix back end??? See you soon richard

I remember diving under a lightweight E-type, and finding a Bendix style pump, and the same type of cooler as the XJ6s used for oil coolers.
