Funny thing those sayings -
My first thought was that a "stabbed rat" wouldn't move much at all...but then I know what you really mean.

What engine ? 302 Windsor ?? or a Rover V8 ??

Re the 'original', it is only the attempts over the years to attach a 'Griffith' type provenance to the cars. They are what they are and have real provenance in their own right.
IMHO of course.

It had a 302 Windsor.........

It didn't have snow-chains, Pridaux ! same as your 3000S, which you will regret up the Stelvio........

You might regard the 5000M as a futile attempt to mimic the Tuscan/Griffith, but heart of the matter is, its a very (very) fast version of an M

One could ask "whats not to like" ?

I know that at least one went to Europe. It had a gorgeous black paint job, and the pale tan corduroy interior. John built that one for himself, but was offered too much money to keep it. It went to Sweden, when prices skyrocketed, in the late eighties, or early nineties.

Was it that car?

As a fun detail, for anoraks, John used cast iron Torino exhaust manifolds, on most (all?) of his V8 cars.

Best,
B.

Hi Bernard,

Hope your well !

Nope, not the one you are describing, as far as i could find there is another one in scotland, light blue

This one was purchased in the UK, 'bout two years ago (and then fully rebuild, bar the paint-job)

But, as my offer wasn't accepted, I did not get any more info.........

Then again, my offer wasn't high enough, cos i'm not willing or prepared to sell my 3000S.......

(and also still thinking (read; saving) to give it some grunt (200 grunts, actually......))

grtz

Hi Frank,

Yes, really well, thanks. Hope you are, too.

200 grunting Clydesdales should be fun. A 3000S, with enough power, for your liking, should be the be all, and end all. No need for a closed car, then.

Best,
B.
