Ignition question
Discussion
In my box of bits I have shagged standard Motorcraft distributor with a vacuum advance and a relatively new looking FoMoCo distributor with no vacuum advance. My engine is a 1700 (ie plus 90 thou over bore) with a Kent BCF3 cam. I didnt plan it that way, thats just the way it came. It has a DGV carb, and thats the way its going to stay ion the short term. Later I might get a decent head and a pair of Webers
I am hoping to be able to fit the engine soon and so I am looking at ignition.
I had planned on getting a recon standard distributor and maybe fitting electonic ignition. Is this the way to go?
Reading around it seems that the newish no VA distributor might have been bought for use with twin Webers.

We don't run vacuum advance on our 1600M with twin webers as the manifold didn't have four air take offs, so we weren't sure if the vacuum would work properly.
We got an Aldon dizzy, with a slightly tuned advance curve, and put a lumenition kit in it.
Works fine, still gives exceptional economy, a trip down to broadstairs from leicester and back returned something around 40Mpg. And on a trackday, the trip there and back and going around the track returns 35Mpg.
We've got an Accuspark kit to go in the Taimar.
