Looks a complete car, could make a nice project for someone if they get it at the right price.

and coming from Layton Sports cars...........in the March Sprint their is a nice article about "Trevor" and it talks about this era
When Trevor left Layton he bought a Mk1 which he sold to fund the new business and a Mk11 which was crash damaged their repaired for Trev to drive it as his daily driver......wouldnt it be exciting if it was that car?
Even if its not there cant be too many of these about for sure

Last MKIIA restoration project I saw on ebay was a full car with engine still fitted and went for £7610 in Dec 2012
EDIT - there was also that weird one that was just a shell with a starnge chassis, no paperwork and a damilar engine, but least said about that the better.

Prozac--------------47 Million prescriptions issued last year, now thats depressing.
Apart from that not much, the odd snotty old snow loving antique Land Rover.
And gasket sets for Ford 302 engines seem to selling like hot cakes.
In my garage clearance I am not even getting stupid emails anymore.

I have £2.53 in small change in my pocket, would you please send me:-
1 pair Vixen alloy front bumpers
1 Tuscan V6 bonnet (in Juguar dark blue)
1 Glass rear screen (non-tinted, heating element not required).
Don't worry about the change, you can give it to charity.
Many thanks,
Phil.
Is that stupid enough?

£125k for a roadgoing E type
£108k for a Lancia Aurelia
£183k for a Lotus Cortina
You just need to have the right marque or period competition history. Barn find Astons are completely potty money. Biggest issue for the auction houses is getting decent stock.
How much is flowing down to TRs, MGs, TVRs etc is a moot point but I reckon prices have roughly doubled in the last five years.
Nevertheless I think £18k for a MkI is flying a kite, the owner must have seen the price of MkIIIs and assumed his is rarer and hence more valuable. What is it worth fully restored, less the cost of restoration.......
LMC and Silverstone Classic were packed both with competitors and public despite silly fees for races and entry.
Recession, what recession?

Plus the Cars that are changing hands privately that are not advertised i know that a close friend who is a buyer for a London Classic car dealer is traveling all over the world sourcing Quality stock from private collections of which these sales dont appear as adverts until they arrive in there show room even auction prices are sometimes exceeding show room prices.
Right Car Right restoration or provenance and history and they are selling.
Regards Restoration Projects there is always someone out there who wants the challenge of a restoration and its the challenge rather than the end value they are into look at the 3000s SE Turbo on cars and Classic at £40.500 in many ways deserving of the price but completed 2 years ago and only 100 miles done obviously not done to use but because he could and probably just wants another project fair play to him or her.

Being frank, people who buy these don't get hit by recession. The recession hits those who can't afford to buy these! £108k for a Lancia Aurelia
£183k for a Lotus Cortina
