My 2500M is now running happily for the first time since I have owned it. I'm now interested in replacing my vintage '77 shocks and springs with the best combination of today's shocks and springs for optimal street performance -- handling and ride. I want it to be competent (a nimble handler) but reasonably comfortable too. Adjustable shocks for fine tuning stiffness would probably be nice.

With these bolt on parts, I'm less concerned with originality and more concerned about the best handling and ride today's technology in shocks and springs can produce. What are you other M owners using and what would you buy for your car today?

Adrian, please check your email...

Thanks!

John

I have a 71 Vixen 2500 with Spax dampers and 180lb springs (the spax are set at their lightest setting). The car seems to like this set up and the ride is not overly harsh. The original springs that i took off the car were 140lbs.

I bought new coilovers for my M3000 from protech http://www.protechshocks.co.uk/ and are very happy with the build quality and ride. Spring rates are not comparable as I redesigned the A arm's, but will approx convert to 175 lbs rear and 160 lbs front, with the front beeing lighter than original due to the engine and gearbox loosing +100lbs due to the Jaguar S engine conversion

I like protechs and now that I know my Griffy handles reasonably well I can whole heartedly recommend them.

Dads car has a set of Adrians Avo's which as always were accompanied by specialist customer service
