Is there some where you can get the smiths rev counters repaired or is it best to buy a nearly the same MGB off e bay.

Speedy did mine a few years ago and converted it for electronic ignition at the same time, only one sensor wire instead of two. Geoff

Thank you very much I should have some joy with those leads, now to try and work out why heater control valve won't close off water, does it ever end ? so you can just drive and enjoy the thing

Speedy cables have been very helpful, if you use the old way of coil and points on your cross flow DO NOT use a sports coil ie Lucas gold with out having the rev counter upgraded by speedy cables as the rev counter is 60 years old and the circuitry can not cope with a stronger charge with out a separate protection board been added. This I did not know and am now paying £65 for the overhaul £10 for the upgrade to facilitate running with electronic ignition or a sports coil, £12 P & P grand total with the VAT £104.40, for the knowledge.
