About to remove a badly fitted 3.0 Essex engine from a Vixen S3 and replace with a 1700 crossflow motor (711M block).

Shopping list:
Engine mounts (the original bracketry remains on the chassis).
Exhaust system
Propshaft

A little out of touch with things TVR. Can anyone suggest where I can source the above?
Thanks

Well done great to see a badly created Tuscan replica going back to what it should be try as much as possible to use the main guys that do the older cars ie Steve Reid,Adrian Venn at Exactly TVR,and Doug at David Gerald you can find them all on the Webb we all need these guys to remain and we need to use them saving a few quid searching around can me tempting but when you really need help you will be glad you had a relationship with these guys.
Better to get a part that they know is right and fits rather than saving a few quid getting something you think might fit and then having to ring them to ask why it doesent?

Engine mounts = mk2 escort
Exhaust system = mk2 escort manifold can be modified to fit and then fabricate thenrest or i suppose there are still a fee places offering a full replacement system.
Propshaft = reco prop just them what ends you want and the length and they will make youmone to suit.

The S3 body style also came as a tuscan. seems a bit silly to downgrade when you have the engine and box..

Re-fitting a n other 1600 motor is equally un-original in my opinion..

Build the car you want..
But don't try and kid yourself that anything you do will be original!!

The engine should be 1598cc and not 1700, because thats not original?

Exactly and enjoy the car for what it is in all fairness really original TVRs are from my limited experience are not that common firstly many where built as Kit cars even if the final assembly was no more than enough to justify the tax man.
And I am sure some where modified before they even started life on the road hence parking up along side another that is exactly the same is rare more chance on M series cars after they stopped selling as Kit Cars although like all cars there was constant Development or cost cutting or change of suppliers for various reasons;)
like wise the same body was Created as a V8 so why not fit a V8 instead? its down to what the owner wants from the project and to use the car for.

Now there I will struggle. I saw the pics of your brother on your rather stupid Gumball Rally post which you tactfully removed before most sensible folk saw it. Why was his 1978 Porsche Targa parked in a back street away from all the new Ferraris and Lamborghini,s? He obviously wasn,t an identical twin so I cant show you identical bks

Now I thought I saw something with a Blue Non original Targa porch but thought I was dreaming!! Surely not I thought..
Bit like the screen shots I saved of a naked TVR man cooking infront of an AGA.? I thought I was dreaming then aswell..

I am building it as a hybrid Ivor. Free charging points in Newcastle now and getting a good deal from a mate at the new Nissan Leaf factory wink

I am always a bit wary of the power delivery from a turbo car in a short wheelbase chassis hehe
