Hello

Now the I have a working alarm on my tvr 3000m I am toying with the idea of fitting central locking motors in the doors.

Has anyone done so and able to offer any advice.

As most kits are for more modern machinery, do I need to fabricate special brackets or are the 3000m door internals from a more mainstream car.. Like an mgb, triumph or ford ?

Does your car have buttons (if so then mount them normally)...if not, then you need to convert the lever on the drivers side to make it lockable (which is easy once it is off the car) then mount the solenoids horizontally with double locators and rods onto the connecting bar between the lock mech and lever.
Blanking the key (by using a passenger press) and adding a power supply (as in a Accumate plug for charging and emergency usage) adds to the job.

Just an alternate idea...

The Cortina IV/V style locks fit onto a flat surface, along with their retainers, and pull upwards to release , so compatible with the handles, and there is a central locking version avaialble from Granada and luxury Cortina versions. I reckon these will fit without much hassle.

There is also a neat central locking controller from these models too....
driver's lock has the 'drive' switch attached.

I have push buttons !

So I can get an off the shelf pair of solenoids, I don't need a custom bracket ? That would be great news.

In buttons, I meant internal ..if you are saying push (as in Cortina MK2 handles) then mod the lever,,pictures would help.
