Birkett Relay - Silverstone today!
Discussion
Not too sure how many made it, the crowds were a little on the non existent side, but HUGE congratulations due to the Grannies team, who came third overall and first in class!!!
IIRC Three Grantura's, a Griff 200 and a Tuscan, seemed to run fine all day, lots of support in the garage, and a great photo shoot at the end - WELL DONE!!

Great to see Ian's Le Mans Grantura there too, and although we didn't get the chance to chat, Steve's Grantura about as well.
Couple of photo's of the day:

But, what on earth was this?!
Any ideas?
Well done to all involved, cracking result!!!!

The purple car (36B) is Bob Pepper's S1 Vixen. The car used to belong to John Reid who raced it in South Africa for many years before bringing it back to England when he got the job of running the Tuscan race cars for TVR at the end of the 1980's. John is now Race Director at TVR since the takeover. The odd looking front is a prototype bonnet fitted by the factory to a similar car for some race series in the 60's in an attempt to improve aerodynamics. Either David Hives (TVR race mechanic at Le Mans in '62)or John Reid had the original mould so made a new front for Bob's car. I think!!!!! sTeVeR

Excellent shots. Did you happen to get any interior or engine compartment detail shots? I'm building a Grantura 2a now and would like to see how some other cars are done.
Hi, unfortunately not, but I can heartily recommend the Pre_1980's Yahoo email group - someone on there is bound to have details for you, there are a number of Grantura owners.
Take a look at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/TVR_Pre1980/
All the best,
Tony
