On the subject of less restrictive exhaust manifolds for the Essex has anyone with a 3000m/Taimar successfully fitted Janspeed manifolds which are still available though Burton Performance? i,m assuming as they were designed for the 3 ltr Capri they will not clear the chassis?

I suspect you're right.

It's unlikely a manifold for Capri will fit without some cutting and shutting, which may defeat the object of a free flowing manifold.
Adrian had some bespoke ones a while ago, he may still have them?

And I've only got as far as a "trial fit" on a pair of spare heads.

Just based on the fact that the last batch took 15 years to shift and I sold the last 2 sets at cost to get rid of them, as they were as such redundant stock !!! zero.

Hi Richard, Would that be Derrington as in the speed shop that used to be near Kinsgton Uni some years ago?

He owns Maniflow and used to work with Jan at Downton.

No sure how "flowed" these are? http://www.actproducts.co.uk/shop/ms12-manifolds-f...

Maybe worth a phone call?

The ACT ones are made by JP exhausts and are pretty much a stainless copy of the TVR orginals. Not very "flowed" but nice enough - well I like them on ours.

Are they stainless versions of the TVR Essex manifolds or free flowing equal length collector headers?
