Picture shows the cable, end with plastic collar clips into speedo itself, question is where does the other end connect, cant find anywhere on the gearbox? unless its from the diff?

Also its just the wire cable itself, shouldn't it be in a plastic and wire outer sheath (Bowden cable)? if so where can I get one?

Adrian at Exactly TVr supplied mine that looks wrong yes its should be in a sleeve and does attach to the Gear box if its standard box and most other boxes

Back end of the gearbox, somewhere near the crossmember/gearbox mounting.

Can anyone show me a picture of where the cable enters the gearbox please?

Also found this on the Burton Preformance site, is this what I need?:

Here's a couple that I took when dismantling my '79 3000S with the standard 4-speed Type 5 gearbox.
The speedo cable entry to the gearbox is shown arrowed just the the right of centre of the picture.



This is a close up showing the clamp that holds the end of the cable to the gearbox.



If you have the standard box then you won't need the 90 deg adapter, just the correct cable (inner and outer). As mentioned above, speak to Adrian . . .
