Brooklands Today
Discussion
Well what an adventure so thought I would share and may encourage others that like me who where loath to take there cars out in weather like we had today to get out there more.
I must say a rather Liberating feeling and guess I will not be looking at the weather forecast so often in the future.
We had an early 7.15 start leaving in the dark with just a little misty Rain
However the rain started with some force while we where waiting

and arrived on time at 8.45 at the Leatherhead Services where we had arranged to meet up with Gary but due to an accident on the M25 he arrived at 9.15 with a lovely sound in his Turbo Charged Vixen S3

So we arrived at Brooklands with hardly any Que to get in a sign that numbers this year would be much lower and it was only about 30% of the normal turn out.
And a chance to have a good look at Garys S3 a beautiful car but with over 200bhp in the wet and a competition Clutch not that easy to handle in the Wet so well done mate she is Beautiful just don't kick me with your left

The Rain really was torrential at that point and it was not long before even raincoats where soaking and jeans soggy yuck.
However we found the Coffee shop and all had a great chat there where only 2 other TVRs there so for Once The Classics equalled the modern cars which was nice.
Then Had a good look around some of the indoor displays and even found this Cranky old Bloke which made me think of someone I know ?

Some of the Marks managed a fairly good turn out such as the Landrover and Scimmitar however Jaguar only had Billy no Mates turn up?

And These Guys don't have to worry about going rusty

But still some Great cars on Display

We then met up with Mike (Whitewolf) who came down from Doncaster for the day and brought some parts down for me to Deliver next week for a Grantura over there while I am over in the USA so a Big thank you Mate your a star.
The Journey home was the worst I have driven for ages and the wind and the surface water was crazy and we where floating at some points rather scary at least it was not hard to stay under 3000rpm while running her in

So home for a nice soapy wash and a drip dry under cover before being put away for the next adventure.
Would I do it again in this weather
You Bet it easily beats Drinking till the wee hours and sleeping till 10 then waking with a sore head and was a fantastic adventure role on 2015

Best day of the year so far hopefully many more to come
Brooklands is such a fantastic place and steeped in motoring history and where else in the world can you hear over the speaker will the owner of a Lancia parked under Concords Wing please move it
sounded like a great place to park in my eye

Well was a brilliant day regardless of weather.
Good run out, the joys of average speed cameras coupled with a late start restricted time and getting soaked wasn't too nice but one pic I did get ( I did want to get on top of it for comedy but couldn't and was soaking wet)
Certainly worth a trip on a decent day

Very brave and thanks for sharing the pics. Did you have to "blow dry" your carpets after that lot?
No Andy just the jeans as get that trickle of water down the front of the door but with the knee resting against the door that's what got wet.Garys was dry apart from the front of the sunroof he said when I called great when he only popped the windows back in and re sealed them as they where leaking yesterday.
Took pity on the entrance photographers this time as I usually cant be bothered but as there was such a small turn out and she was nearly being blown out of her stall with paper going everywhere I thought it worth getting especially as I got the one with both cars coming in.
How about you getting yours finished and joining us next year ?
