starting to look at refurbing the four corners of the car, I basically have a pile of very rusty corroded parts, my main worry being the aluminium cast hub carriers at the back, pins seized in place big time, I`ve read on here about gradually drilling these out, what are the other options, new/refurbed ones available anywhere?

Adrian has done many over the years so will no doubt give you more usefull advice than me.
If I found that they were severely corroded then I would always machine flush then have them milled out and reamed to size. If the alloy casting has worn oval then the new pins can be oversize and an undersized bush used or alternatively the casting can be machined oversize and an insert used.

I think it must have been Adrian who told me it is much easier for his "machining guy" to do these if some of the pin is left sticking out for him to centre up on?

No doubt the "font of all knowledge" will be along soon smile

How difficult can drilling a 1/2" piece of metal out of an alloy casting be?

Geoff, have repliedthumbup

its easy enough to drill the shafts out, I have the machinery at work to do the job, its just the time and the aggravation when everything else needs a lot of attention (including mrs f)hehe

I spoke to Adrian today and for the sake of £40 odd pounds per side in exchange for my old ones with the shafts cut off, its a no brainer, I get 2 nice bead blasted hubs ready to put on the car in return, plus extra of course for the new shafts and nuts.

Hi Clive , these are the compomotive wheels that I have , not sure of the width as haven't looked at them for a while , as you can see they fit under the normal body width. Arthur might mention it in his thread here......
