Just thought someone might be able to help there are some kind people that are looking out for me on this and hopefully will identify what its off but maybe others have seen this elsewhere

the switch is the one top right on this panel they seem to have been fitted only on the V8 SWB and LVB cars I am not even sure what it does but some think it is a Hazard switch which vixens don't have as its has been suggested they did not need as they did not break down hehe
Any suggestions I have looked everywhere with no success

Search is over your Clue that it was only on US spec cars helped big time its not a Ford part but a Roberk 800 Which was made as an aftermarket part to fit to cars in the US that did not have hazard switches as standard in order to comply with US legislation
It looks like all the V8 cars or at least most had these fitted here rather than in the US as most went to the USA and I know that Jims RHD V8 had this fitted as standard.

As a bit of history here for those that are interested with help from others on here the history of this switch is that UK cars in the 60s where not required to have a 4 way hazard flasher unit fitted however cars that where exported to the USA where required to have one and these units where made by a company that made aftermarket parts in the USA i think such as wing mirrors etc that where also not legally required same as Sarto lenses etc where made as an aftermarket product.
If you google USA Vixen pictures you will find pictures of these switches fitted between the rev counter and the speedo near the top however when it came to building the V8 Tuscans SWB and LWB they fitted these to both left hand and right hand cars as most where destined for the USA I believe.
Its amazing how long its taken to find this rather chuffed as i really wanted the exact switch and nearly bought a different one at the NEC in November but gladly i did not as with patience the right part always comes along a lesson to us all be patient a good job takes time a better job a little longer but worth it in the end

Hi Andrew. Were those the correct toggle switches for the tuscan or should they be the fluted type as fitted to 1800S and early Vixens?

Hi Andy not sure can post the picture of the fluted type i know they where black and they did not have them fitted there i think as Jims Car had the dash changed to fit an extra 4 guages hence they went where the switches should have been.
I am not 100% which ones i will use i have bought some chromed ones as i do like them plus they have rings that go on over them with the on and off marked which looks nice but not sure if i will fit them or not

Here's a pic of the fluted type. Getting hard to find but worth getting even if the switch is knackered because you can sometimes ease the black flute off of the switch arm, or if they are really well bonded you can knock out the little roll pin and fit the whole arm to a later switch.

Hi Andy,

I spent an age trying to find these. They were also fitted to lambos and Astons in period, as well as Alfa Guiliettas which usually makes them very expensive if you can find them.

They more often come up on the Italian version of E bay along with very similar switches for Alfas
