Thanks yes that was what i thought as well but i know that the earlier cars had a different one and my MK2 has none at the moment and the Tuscan has none i was going to fit the MGB ones which are available new however I know some earlier cars had the early Cortina one i wonder if anyone knows when the change over was done MK1s i believe had the Cortina one but i cant find out when the change was made

Probably at about 2:35 on a Tuesday afternoon (just after the phone call when Ford's ashtray supplier said they'd no longer provide them on tick).

Mine has MGB.

They are from a so called pre airflow cortina on the early cars. If you are desparate I have a knackered one where the spring has gone, and, I don't think it has the inner tray. It might do to fill the hole till you find one. I can't get at it till Monday though.

I may ring you just to get the size of the opening which i can trim over ready for when i find one i am still not sure if they all had that one i guess as they where all built over a two year period i would presume that there was some variations between the first one and the last one i know that is the case with the head lining for example as LW022 which was one of the last LWB V8s Built has a different lining than the earliest ones which i am told had west of England Cloth
Jim is getting the ash top down and sending a picture of his so that will confirm the answer.
