Cadwell Track Day
Discussion
The car club has some 6000 members and currently less than 35 members and non members have signed up to do the track day with 2 weeks to go..
The classic fraternity could do well to enjoy a great day where you can explore the whole point of why TVR's are the cars they are..
I am going to take the old Blue thing to support this day. I would hope that other classic members could do the same.
The day is split into sessions so even the most novice driver can enjoy their car in a safe environment.
It would be a travesty if this became the last year of a very good event. I fear that if the numbers don't add up this will be the final year that the car club supports this event.
£150 quid for a circuit driving day with professional instruction is good value. It is exclusively for TVR's and a day to meet up with like minded enthusiasts and have some fun doing what cars are meant to do.
It really does make me wonder what the club membership has become at times...

How many TVRCC Events have you attended in the last 5 years driving a TVR and how many miles have you actually driven in a TVR at all in the last 5 years.
I fully agree with Neil as this is a fantastic chance to get some great tuition and also enjoy our cars in a way we cant on the road and fantastic value for money

Not sure what your comments regards my personal financial circumstances have to do with anything Andrew…As you know or may not in the last 5 or 6 years I have chosen to build and restore an Historic racer and also a vixen for the old fella as a joint project..The race project also involved a full re-build on a dodge Van and because of a house move the construction of a couple of garages..Anyhow..it would have been nice to have kept my Griff 500 and the 6 or so vixens over the years but my loss turned into a number of gains for proper TVR enthusiasts who were able to get into the marque whilst it was still affordable to do so..Anyhow aside from my ramblings..you have now had screwed together a few very nice old cars which would be good to see in a habitat where they would give you and onlookers immense satisfaction..How many TVRCC Events have you attended in the last 5 years driving a TVR and how many miles have you actually driven in a TVR at all in the last 5 years.

It would be good to see you and your cars OOP north.
Now as for glass houses..I am a non member who is no longer a member in the main because out of 6000 members only 25 or so seem to have an interest in Motorsport and driving the cars these days. There are many other reasons why I am no longer a member, spares re-manufacture and support being just one of many…I still however would always support a motorsport related TVR car club event. I have even paid an extra fiver in this case to do so..not withstanding a good few hundred quids worth of fuel to get to Louth and back with car and sleeping accommodation. I could just keep testing at Croft but thats not what being an enthusiast is about!
It would be good to see you travel a bit further North Andrew. You never know you may meet a slightly different type of enthusiast than the ones you usually socialise with, and get your fingers a bit oily..
These are Northern built sportscars after all

I really enjoyed your video Neil and it's great to see and hear your lovely car in action - great stuff.
I haven't got a clue what the demographic of the car club is with regard to the number of folk who either want to watch, or take part in motor sport, or are just happy with restoring, driving or just owning an old TVR. For my part, I'm getting my hands covered in plenty of oil just keeping my car on the road and getting it to a state that i'm happy with. Whilst I would be very interested in a day out at Cadwell to watch the brave and the skilled belt there cars around the circuit, for me I've got no racing ambition - love to watch, would sh*t myself if I had to take part.
I've got a slow old road car with a 45 year old chassis. Just getting it to north of the Watford Gap would worry me. Good luck to all those who fancy a go.

Would be great to see you there even if it was just for a polishing session in the paddock…I haven't got a clue what the demographic of the car club is with regard to the number of folk who either want to watch, or take part in motor sport, or are just happy with restoring, driving or just owning an old TVR. Wasn't it last year? Pre80s meeting on Sunday followed by Cadwell Park track day on Monday, which is why Banners turned up in his truck with TVR79 on the back. Quite a few did then go on to Cadwell for the track day, but not me and Too much to do this year as well.
Oliver.
Your quite right Oliver Maybe the OP has been asleep or in the Garage Oliver.

So, Andrew, are you going or not? It would be great to see you, and follow you round the track. We could see if your vixen is as quick as our 1600M ( sorry, no racing of course) but it would be great to have a significant presense of pre 80's cars there all trundling around the track together, teaching the young uns where their cars came from!

Afraid not Brian sadly spending Monday and Tuesday at a retreat centre where I have a trade stand with my new company with 350 shop owners. It would be more like me trying to catch you up I am sure unless someone else was driving my Vixen its the driver instruction that I would really wanted to go for

I'd love to and will attend and do the track day but not just yet, I spectated last year and got 3 passenger rides,
1 in a light coloured t350c
1 in topgear tvr
1 in red spikes sagaris :-D
I personally appeal to the tuition, I have no track experience and would like some, but still have bits to do to the taimar - new shocks and springs.
Hopefully next year!
